Therapeutic Art Classes for Children and Teens “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.”– Pablo Picasso
Our kids’ art classes on a Thursday (4pm-5pm) are a joyful blend of creativity, curiosity, and learning. Children explore a wide range of mediums including paint, pastels, clay, collage, printmaking, and mixed media, giving them the freedom to experiment and discover what they love. Along the way, they are gently introduced to art history and theory, learning about famous artists, styles, colour, line, shape, and composition in a way that feels playful and engaging rather than academic. Each class is thoughtfully structured to build skills while still leaving plenty of room for imagination and self-expression.
Art is incredibly powerful for children. It supports emotional expression, builds confidence, strengthens fine motor skills, and nurtures problem-solving and critical thinking. Through art-making, children learn patience, perseverance, and that there is no single “right way” to create. Art also gives children a voice — especially those who find it hard to express themselves with words. In our classes, the focus is on the process rather than perfection, helping children feel proud of their efforts, connected to their creativity, and free to be exactly who they ar
